Trail Riding - Summer & Fall

One hour ride | $40.00
A labyrinth of trails within the San Juan National Forest. Our guests can ride terrain suited to their abilities and interests. Aspen forests, Ponderosa and Oak studded hillsides, meadows, and Spruce forests on the north sides make this ride truly complete. Minimum age is six years old.

Two Hour Ride | $70.00
The trails continue. We may cross some creeks or spend some time in the Lupine Meadows (during early summer). This is a truly beautiful ride for those wishing to spend more time in the saddle. Minimum age is eight years old. Bring some water.

Cave Ride | $75.00
This is a family favorite. You’ll be in the saddle for about an hour and forty minutes during this two hour excursion. This adventure includes a short, but steep hike to a natural water cave we explore by flashlight. Bring a little snack and some water for the short break we take after hiking back up from the cave. A great ride for those who want to stay out longer. Minimum age is six years old.

Three Hour Ride | $95.00
We can combine the cave ride and some longer trails for a wonderful outing. It is nice to bring along a little lunch if you schedule during the middle of the day. Or, we can ride out to Four Bay Lake and take a break, with or without your lunch, over looking the Animas River Canyon. Bring water and a little snack or lunch. Minimum age is eight years old.

Hermosa Cliffs | $150.00
This is a four- to five-hour excursion, depending on conditions and what trail we take. Bring a lunch and water and dress in layers, bring a jacket no matter what the weather is. This is a unique ride that allows participants to see a lot of country including elevated parks, forests and incredible long distance views of the Needles, La Plata’s and Electra Lake. The ride originates at Elbert Creek and climbs 1,000 feet in elevation. Since Aspen trees dominate the forest this ride is an “autumn favorite” as the colors are spectacular. This is a fairly strenuous ride so riders should be in good physical condition. Kids must be over 12 years old.

Engineer Mountain Ride | $200.00
"For true adventure seekers, winding through a sub-alpine forest, past wildflowers and high above timberline, where, on a clear day, you can see all the way to New Mexico." — USA Today, April 2010

The Engineer Mountain Ride is our wranglers’ favorite! This excursion is truly some of Colorado’s best high country. Wild flowers and views are so incredible words do no justice — we are at timberline and above on this ride (10,800’ to 11,900’). This ride can be done in four hours or take an entire day. Bring a lunch and water, dress in layers, and bring a jacket. Kids must be over 12 years old.
